help ID

i dont have a picture, only a discription...

my lfs has a 2-3'' mantis...
it is purple/blackish...

and i'm looking for an id to possably give him a home...

please help

I think that's the best we can do since it's nearly impossible to ID a mantis by color alone. If you could take a nice macro picture of it and post it, that would be helpful.

what could i put him in that i could snap a pic of him in whith out the worry about him breaking glass....


he's a smasher...
attacks anything infront of his face...
even a sally light foot that is bigger then him...

he is mostly black, with green spots here n there...
with pink blue and green on his legs and other parts...

i will try to get a pic soon....
maybe i'll try a jar of some sort...

If its aggressive enought to attack anything in front of it, toss in a crab and spap some shots of it in the tank. No need to take it out if you can get a shot in the tank.

I couldnt tell ya...you may need a top view picture of the mantis...im still not really sure what to look for
