Hi,
I've googled and looked at common hitchhikers and can't seem to find what I've just received.

Any help would be appreciated.
I'm referring to the white thing on the bottom of the coral.
Its soft to the touch and gripping the coral.

Thanks,

Rick

Does it move?
If so probably a nudibranch/sea slug of sorts?

If not maybe a sponge..

can you get a closer picture?

Yellow hitch-hiker on live rock

Yellow hitch-hiker on live rock

I recently purchased a large piece of live rock covered in button polyps and I just noticed this hard yellow "growth" on the bottom of the rock. It doesn't seem to be bothering anything; but I am wondering if this is a "freebie" that latched on to the rock, or if it is something I should be concerned about.

I haven't had it long enough to figure out if it's getting bigger or not.

It is hard, not slimy or soft like a mushroom might be.

Any ideas would be welcomed!!!

are they hard to take care of? Should I target feed it? Or will it be fine just leaving my feeding and parameters the way they are for the other corals?
