I put some new rock in and noticed these growing. I'm new to this so I have no clue if they are good or bad. Help!

Thanks! From what I've read peppermint shrimp for the aiptasia and joes juice for the hydroids. I'd like to limit the chemicals in the tank.

yes pepp shrimps "usually" get the job done.. Might take a while but aiptasia is in their diet range..

personally never worry about the hydroids and haven't seen them ever cause a problem in my tank..
I'd just pull the rock out and break them off..

You could just smother those Hydroids with some epoxy. Keep an eye on that Peppermint shrimp too. Aiptasia is not the only thing on this invertebrates diet. A lot of people have reported them eating various corals in their tank, including myself. If you can remove those rocks with ease then you might want to consider burning the Aiptasia off with a cigarette lighter. This only takes a few seconds to do.

I am pretty sure the yellow things are Caribbean Zoanthids

What wrong with hydroids?

I disagree.

There's nothing really wrong with Hydroids, but they can irritate certain corals if they get too close. I don't know about you, but I sure as hell wouldn't want them taking up some prime real estate in my tank. :thumbdown

Being they do t even resemble a hydroids, yes I would let them live because the key to a healthy tank is diversity. I think everything in my tank is interesting. Apraxia I would tank out though that goes for all undesirable pests. Hydroid are not a pest.
