This is a pretty established tank. About 3yrs old.
The water params from the Salafert test kits show pristine water conditions.
Nitrate: 0
Phosphate: 0
Nitrite: 0
Ammonia: 0
dKH: 7 (ok, this is a little low)
The rust colored patches started showing up about 3 weeks ago and have continued to grow. They don't appear to be cyano or any other easily brushed off algae. The texture is a little like coraline algae, but a very different color.
Much more rust like.
