Help identifying this- irritation or diease

My porkfish has something wrong with him
I called one of the lfs and the saltwater expert i talked to said if the scales are turning black then its a good thing because thats how fish heal.

Well they were. I don't know whats going on with the fish as i know his behaviors haven't changed, he eats well goes to his cave at night with no signs of irritation.

His tank mates are a blackedge eel and a porcipine puffer.
in the is a 150 high with an over dose of filters

I feed 2 mysis shrimp soaked in garlic

Really not sure....if it were my fish I would probably remove him to a qt tank and medicate with antibiotics

Any aggression going on?

no aggression at all
But unfortanely the porkfish did die today.
I found him under the cave at the top...

I just have to watch my porpipine puffer and the black edge ill i have in the tank to make sure they don't have any thing etc...
