Hello all, couple of days ago i've been seeing a couple of my fish with this but didn't really put much attention to it until i think my clown goby died of it. Can anyone tell me what is this white stuff on my clown? Does not look like normal ich.is there anyway to treat it? I don't wanna loose my clown he was my first fish on my tank and he is the only one showing signs of it,my other fish seem normal.

Looks a lot like Marine Velvet. You need to treat it with copper in a hospital tank. You don't have much time at all from the looks of it. I'd get on it today.

I agree. I am dealing with marine velvet right now and it has already wiped half my fish in just a matter of days. It kills quickly and needs to be treated ASAP!!

It already killed my anthias, koke tang and clown goby...sad week for me...i'm setting a qt tank as we speak, hopefully i can save my buddy.

Well velvet got the best of my buddy, unfortunately my clown passed away...this thing killed my fish in a matter of days, really caught me off guard, learn my lesson and gonna set up a qt tank. How does this velvet happens? I've been buying from the same lfs tor a while and nothing happened, bought one fish from another lfs and boom this happens, did the fish from the new lfs brought this to my tank? I still have a falco hawkfish and 2 chromis in the tank that seem perfectly fine but gonna keep a close eye on them while i set up my qt tank. This sucks.

Looks like Brook to me, velvet is very hard to see. But it definitely could be both at the same time since brook would take several days or more to kill the fish---stops eating.
Formalin baths 2x/day will help very much if you transfer the fish to new water each time.
I'm very sorry for your loss.
