Help ID'ing this cool little thing?

It has a central circle with eight small circles around it. It's fleshy in appearance. I can't quite get to it, as it's on the underside of some rock. It's growing on some live rock originating from the Gulf of Mexico.

My initial thought is that it's some type of sponge, or maybe a soft coral/polyp?

I don't think so, it's tubular. I have some mushrooms that I recently put in my tank and it looks nothing like them (and is nowhere near them).

Looks like some type of sponge or tunicate. Whatever it is, it's a harmless filter-feeder. Keep an eye on it and see how it grows, that might help ID it.

Ah, it definitely could be a tunicate. I'll keep an eye on it! I wasn't really worried about it, I was just curious to see if I could figure out what it was. Thanks for the input!
