Help! i cant tell if this piece of coral is dead.

i'm not sure. It was like a freebie, i think it might have been a chaylis?? Idk but i do see a little pigment left so i didn't know if it could come back?

it looks like the skeleton of a chalice to me... dead, sorry

Looks like a piece of clam shell (I am not saying it is, just throwing it out there). The other thing is a skeleton of pachyseris rugosa.
