Help, is this sea star reef safe ? (Picture)

I got this one in my reef, is it reef safe ?

looks like a linkia if so they are safe. i have heard that they should not be exposed to air though. linkias have a bad survival rate though.

I have 3 linkia and that one is diffrent, its brown and the colours are like army.
its came with one of the rocks.

Exposing them to air is not harmful.

It does appear to be Linckia, probably L. multifora.

My blue linkia would actually go to the top fo the glass and be partially out of the water, never had a problem with him.

Sea stars from the genus Linckia or Fromia , are reef safe. Most others are not.

I made a thread that LiveAquaria said that Linkias should never be exposed to air but my new Blue Linkia went partially out of the water and it didn't die. :jester:
