Help! losing an expensive piece!

I just got this 4 days ago and it is bleaching or receding from the bottom up, the top looks ok, not the greatest PE but good color, my parameters are ok: salinity: .025
nitrates: 0
alk: 9.6 (a little high, I know, but that's not why...)
ca: 420
temp 77-78
any ideas? thanks in advance!

you may want to consider cutting the tops off and starting a few frag if the STN is continue'ing... jmo... GL

agreed frag the coral

high alk could have caused this only way to know is it measure the alk from which this coral came
an alk shock is the number one cause of stn rtn ect....

agreed.once it starts it's hard to get it to stop. frag it above the stn were there is good tissue

you could try moving it to a shaded area for a while. worked for me a few times. 50/50 chance.

I did, I made 7, 4 are looking good so far, thanks A LOT! I'm sure with time and trading I will get something out of these 4...I was worried:headwallblue:, I love RC...:wavehand:
