I have had my maroon clown for almost 4 years. he recently started getting flaky skin and a little cloudy eyes. I have heard that clowns can get the "clownfish disease" does this look like it?

The white round circles are not part of the pic, they were from the reflection

Clownfish disease or Brooklynella is possible with newly acquired fish, but not likely with an old fish, unless you've added living things to your tank during the past 2 months. Have you?

Fish deteriorate over a long time usually with a poor water quality issue or a poor nutrition issue. Read and follow these guidelines:

For now, follow the vitamin and fat additives and beta glucan advice for a sick and healing fish given in the above reference.

Then, address the cloudy eye as if it were a minor bacterial infection. Do a large water change and look for and remove decaying matter from your aquarium. Remove likely sources for extra bacterial growth in the water.

If the fish doesn't improve (if it remains the same for more than a couple of days, or obviously gets worse), it is best to move it to a hospital tank for a treatment with an antibiotic. Keep a close eye on it, since if it already has a weakened immune system, you'll need to treat it quickly. So, set up and have ready a hospital tank, NOW. A hospital tank is like a quarantine tank. Advice on setting one up is here:

Good luck!

Hey thanks for the great info. I recently added some snails to the tank. Also, i had a bad broblem with cyno recently, so i switched my tank from CC to Sand. The cyno is all gone now, but this could have stressed him.
