Like I said, I have the choice between a 40 breeder and a 75 gallon tank. The 40 breeder with corner internal overflow, sump (20 long),stand, plumbing, and a 4ft (4 bulb) t5 h/o lighting fixture is going to run me 175 plus my aqua c remora hob skimmer. I am also looking at a 75 Aga, center internal overflow,all of the sand, some clean up crew, 8 bulb current usa t5 Ho lighting, all the plumbing, 16 gal sump, digital timers, mag float cleaner, 3 5 gallon jugs, food, and some other little extras. I am currently running a 45 tall, and it is not drilled, so that is why I am upgrading. The 40 seems like a great deal, but I dont really want to down grade size and want something much larger in the future. The 75 is going to be much more expensive setting up, but it will be larger and hopefully keep my ambitions at bay lol. Btw the 75 includes a brand new in sump skimmer that is a turbo flotor multi sl, while the 40 includes a coralife super skimmer 65 gal. Both include return pumps, and the 75 includes an extra 750 gal rated pump as well.
help me choose! 45 b or 75?

Guess it's a tough call.
Still the price of an upgrade if you go with the 40 will add up to more than that. The Turbofloater multi SL is a very good skimmer. Used to have it and still run it on my 150 G. it doesn't compare to newer and better skimmers like the hurricone I now have but I did handle my 150 G for around 1 year before I upgraded.
IMHO the 75 is a much better choice as you can scape it better, it can tolerate messups better than a 40 still lighting costs and maintenance costes difference between the two shouldn't be that important.
also a 75 will allow you to keep a couple more fish and won't limit yo uas much as the 40 with fish selections.

I have the remora set up on a 45 gallon high right now with only two clowns and a yellow watchman and pistol pair. He will take my remora and 175 bucks for his entire 40 b set up. Both of the tanks are plug and plan, but it is a matter of planning for later on down the road. Btw, the remora I am running (regular hob with maxi jet 1200) does suchhh a good job, and is very easy to maintain.
