Help me choose a pump!

I've got a Koralia 1 (400 gph) in my 29 gallon, and I want to increase the flow for sure. The options I am looking at are:

1) Adding another Koralia 1
2) Replacing the Koralia 1 with a Koralia 3 (850 gph)
3) Replacing the Koralia 1 with a Tunze Nanostream 6025 (660 gph)

I like the first option because it would mean the smallest increase in watts, and therefore heat. But I don't know about another pump in the display. The second option is nice, but maybe a bit too much flow. The third option is a smaller pump, and a little less flow. What do you guys think? Or any more options you want to add that might be what I'm looking for?

replace the K1 with the tunze 6045.

I would go with option 1. It will allow you to have flow coming from more directions, and be just enough flow for that tank IMO.

The tunze 6045 would probably be too much flow for a tank that size (plus you could just mod the 6025 to do the same thing for 40 dollars less)

I do like number 1. One of the best things is I can have direct surface agitation with one pump and direct flow on high flow corals with the other. I just don't know about having another pump in the display, these things aren't small... kinda the reason I wanted to look into the 6025.

And yeah, the 6045 would be way too much flow I think. You jave to remember, there's really only 25 gallons of water here. This isn't an SPS only tank, that kind of flow would likely make some of my softies suffer

ohh, i did not know that it was going to be a softies tank. i just like alot of flow. after all i did have a 37 gallon with over 136x turnover for a while, in which all of my corals thrived in.

have you tried the maxi-jet mod...marinedepot has them...makes a maxi-jet like a tunze stream.

I'd go with #1 or make a new option. Replace the K1 with a K2. One pump with the right amount of flow for less than the Tunze.

#1, I have the same setup and keep SPS corals in my tank with the 2 powerheads providing the flow.

#1. one on each side thats enough flow for your tank.and point them at each.

I considered the K2, but I felt it wouldn't be enough flow... wow, I thought everyone would try and sell me on the Nanostream, kind surprised at the overwhelming support of the Koralia. The money issue isn't a huge one for me, the Nanostream is only $15 more than the K3.

Point them at each other? Like one on each side wall of the tank, facing into the center?

Replace #1 with #2 and add another #2 for the other side of the tank.

You sure? That's 1700 gph, for 25 g.... Does anyone have the nanostream 6025? Do they like it? Is it small or does it stand out?

I used it with my old oceanic 30g. Its very small and sleak, I loved it. You pay for the quality, though, of course.

I'm interested! Although I never heard of it...What are the steps/equipment involved?
