Help Me Choose A Sump Layout! 180g

I'm going to be upgrading to an AGA 180 soon. Need advise on what sump design and plumbing to go with, or maybe there is a better idea. The sump will be a custom acrylic (60x18x16).

The return pump is a Pan World 100PX-X (1270gph). It has 1"MPT in/out. AGA specs are two 1" drains and two 3/4" return bulkheads.

Which design is best and what size plumbing would you use for the drain and return after the bulkheads?

Here's the designs:

That sure is a lonely tank, you have 1 yellow tang and no live rock or anything else with it. HA. This is the stage I am at with my 125 plumbed into the basement so I am going watch closely, let me know how you decide to go, thanks.

If you use a ball valve over the refugium, periodically turn it back and forth to make sure it still moves. Otherwise, Calcium will build up and become as strong as superglue.

2 with an extra baffle on the right side.

Yahtzee

the way I have my fuge set up is the first baffle has a toothed overflow and the second one is a "under" baffle, so this takes care of any marco's trying to weasel their way into the display tank as well as any bubbles that might try and sly larry their way into the tank

2 so you can feed the fuge with some raw tank water.

I agree here. Someday when I move I'm actually going to re-plumb my sump this way.

I'd also put unions on each side of your pump with a gate valve on the return from the pump incase you have to dial it back.

Any of them will work. Unless your skimmer is processing the water at exactly the same or better than the overflow is dumping it in, your 'fuge will still be getting some raw tank water.

My skimmer probably does 250 gph and the overflow has to do at least 400 gph or it gets bubbles in it that won't leave.
