help me choose a trigger fish

I recently picked up a small (smallest I've ever seen for sale around 3") cross hatch trigger and so far has not bothered anything. It's a lot of money but if I can only have a set amount of bioload I can carry I feel like I need to choose wisely.

My sargassum aka red tail is great in my reef tank. It doesn't bother it's tank mates . it just loves to eat.

It's almost always out in the open and isn't shy at all.
It's not the prettiest trigger out there but fits in very well in my reef tank.

I have a black Hawaiian and a clown trigger in different tanks, and have kept BT in the past. I love triggers as well. Sorry to high jack this thread a bit but I think it's still on the same topic. What's your list of desired triggers?

go back in my build thread...at 1 time I had just about every trig avail in my dt...I love trigs, especially baby trigs..overall, I love lagoon trigs the most but fuscus, queens, cinereus, goldenback, and ch are great fish...in a species only tank a clown or undy...undys are terrific fish but are insane...

Ch trigger is nice and mellow. Is 180 too small for a 9" ch?

any trig can be aggressive...

imho, no way would I put a 9 inch crosshatch in a 180....

Niger. Wonderful fish with great graceful movement. Queen is one of the most gorgeous fish anywhere IMO.

agree with both...

queens are beautiful, intelligent, and aggressive...they can also get huge...I had a friend that had a 14 inch queen literally try and eat her way through an acrylic 180, totally destroyed the tank but we were all in such awe of that fish...fish that size enjoy challenging their owners and rarely hide, :uhoh2:care must be taken when cleaning their tanks and the bites they deliver are no joke...

just picked up a Niger Triger myself, very shy over the first 3-4 days, but it's acclimating nice how. Very nice fish to watch, it can get a little aggressive during feeding, but nothing the other fish can't handle.
