Help me choose a wrasse

A local reefer had been eyeing my mystery wrasse for a while. So this weekend I gave in and sold him. My tank is now wrasse-less, and I can't have that.

I've kept a few different wrasses in the past - McCoskers, Carpenters, Melanarus, orange-back fairy, and red head solon. Gotta say the Melanarus was my favorite. Sort of a bummer when he'd kick sand everywhere, but I loved that fish.

Looking into maybe a Vrolik's wrasse. These appear to be very similar to the Melanarus. Is it basically the same fish?

I don't keep shrimp, so the "with caution" wrasses are on the table...

I love Halichoeres Wrasses, so I say go for it. There are many to choose from obviously. I really love H. iridis (radiant wrasse). Beautiful, and very peaceful. I can't comment on H. vroliki, but I believe they're similar in temperament to H. melanurus, which can be a little aggressive with other fish (nothing major though IME).

Their native regions are unique. There's some small difference in the pattern on the body, but the pattern on the tail is the biggest visual difference.

Temperament is the same between both species.
