80g Deepblue Rimmed Tank. 48"x24"x17". Plan to run 300gph flow but it might be slightly higher. The tank will be drilled on the short end which is the non-tempered.

It might be quite noisy at 300gph/400gph levels. But it is the simplest design and everything is included in the kit.

Concerns: Magnet might rust. Need to drill two holdes. Also does it have lower water level when pump is off due to the removeable weir?

3. modular marine

This one can handle 800gph which is a better match for the tank. Also it only requires one hole (1.5" BH) drilled.

Concerns: The three drains are 1/2" which are very small. Will it prone to clogging. Cover is not included. And no template (no a big issue)

Please let me know what you think.

I use the gl*******s.com, it was easy to drill and install but I had to work to get it reasonably quiet. Most of the noise is from water splashing in the sock in the sump. I put some encamat to break the waters fall and it silenced it a lot.

If you go with gl*******s get a couple of extra gaskets, if you have a leak or have to unscrew the bulkhead for any reason, use a new gasket.

This one seems even more slick. Even the viewing window is on the side I want. I found a thread in another forum. Will look into it. With the inside box so narrow I wonder if there is enough room to clean the box because the plastic rim almost cover the box. Also will the water level be too low since the teeth is 1.5" tall? Can you measure the water level to the top of the overflow box?

BTW very gutsy of you to drill two big holes on the rimless tank
