Help me choose my first clam.

Which should I choose for my first clam?

I have dual 175's with 4x55 atinics.

Try a squamosa first....they are great beginner clams......after that, try a 3" plus maxima maybe

Make sure to look out for pyramidal snails and a torn bysal (spelling?) gland!

Don't buy a clam without picking it up in your own hands and looking at its rear end. Unless you're getting it from a reputable online retailer or something.

Yep, my friends who did clamsdirect were very happy.

Also have seen some really nice Maximas at Premium Aquatics this morning ... one of them would be gone if I had the cash ...

The two major clam only suppliers are www.clamsdirect.com and www.eastcoastclams.com You'll be hard pressed to find a negative word about either of those outfits...both are class acts
