Help me design the flow for 2' cube

I am planing for a custom 2' cube tank with 4 side viewable, center drain with just a stand pipe and strainer and it's going to be a mixed reef.

So far I just have in mind a 1" drain and two 3/4" return that will be split using locline.

Anyother suggestion how I can add more flow in the tank? Was thinking of a closed loop but don't know if adding a few more holes on the bottom will be an issue or not. No powerhead will be use for this tank.

Attached is a picture of the bottom glass.

How tall will the stand pipe/durso and returns be? I think read about one of those japanese tanks that puts their return through the drain pipe. Could get an oversize drain 2-3", and put a couple of returns through it.

Xia,

I am thinking around 19" tall or so, in an event of power outtage then only 4" of water will drain down to the sump.

Check out the edgless tanks at fish planet, they have a spay bar outlet on the bottom that has two 90s entering the tank with a perforated span of pipe between them creating the flow outlets. By building your own you could have 180 degrees per and with two hidden by some fancy rockwork should give you what your looking for.
