Ok so after taking the advice on the forums here I am selling my 90 gallon that has 3/8" acrylic and am in the market for a 40 gallon breeder with at least 1/4" thickness.
The problem is I live on Oahu (Hawaii) and the big box stores only sell Sea Clear and Clear for Life all of which are using 3/16" for their 40 gallon tanks (1/4" for the top).. Anyone have any ideas or experience with this tank size?
The reason I want an acrylic tank is that it would be the easiest to drill for my refugium. I know I can get some glass tanks drilled, but where I live having two holes added is over $100. At that point I might as well just the more expensive acrylic setup.
For example is this thing going to bow and explode? http://www.fishtanksdirect.com/40gallon36x15x16rectangularaquariumbyseaclearfreeshipping.aspx
Thanks!
