Help me find it....

Hello,

I have been looking for a ritteri (magnifica) anemone for about a year now and I can't find what I want. I need the masses to hook me up.

I'm not looking for the brown based with the yellow / tan tentacles. I'm looking for a really nice one with a red, purple or blue base with contrasting tentacles. Price is not the issue, I'm willing to pony up.

There are websites that say they have them but I would like a WYSIWYG one if possible.

Do you have any websites for me to check or know of one? If you could pm me I would appreciate it, don't want all the vultures snathcing one from me...

These are examples of what I'm looking for.

I have my 180 all set up with a pedestal and a 250W MH waiting for the perferct one...

my local retailers have been the best source for magnificas for me. i used to try to find healthy ones through mail order, but never succeeded. the healthiest ones ive seen, have been from stores where i can see them before i take them home....

for the most part, from what ive seen, all the red based specimens have come out of africa.

The african red ones seemed to have a particularly poor survival rate.

I know what you're going through. I've looked for quite awhile, lost a small blue base 2 months ago, and haven't been able to find once since. I've had 3 LFS looking for me too.

They have a WYSIWYG section called the Diver's Den, but they don't usually have ritteris in there.

Nice anenome!! I still don't know how you have the ****s to put those anenomes in your fully stocked SPS tank.

Its not a fully stocked SPS tank any more. Most of the SPS are gone, with only a few staghorns, table frags, and odds and ends left.
I've turned it back into a softy/anemone/mixed tank for more general enjoyment and less stress

Thanks for the link sonofgaladriel... I ordered that one shortly after you posted the link. There was an issue with the website and paying for it but hopefully I have it worked out. Luckily for me that place is about 50 miles from where I am and I am going to pick it up tomorrow. I really appreciate your help. I have had every LFS trying to get me one for many months plus checking every website, just about daily, to find one.

The one you have is beautiful, love the blue / purple base. Hopefully this one is just as nice.

Thank you Random.... that is one of the websites I have checked frequently but I was not willing to take the gamble without the WYSIWYG.

My wife has been pseudo angry at me saying I would never get what I wanted.....patience... hopefully it pays off.

I will post a pic if it works out and I get it.

Didn't you just get a good lookin' red one? Your temporary used up till I can get one.

PS, you could try mknwaves.com. Sounds like all live caught though.

If you know of any guys in the LA area that can hit the wholesalers.....Underwater World always has nice ritteri at very reasonable prices. I have seen the nice purple based ones the most frequently, reds being harder to find as are the blues....just my $.02
