I just got my tank, heater , and filter. I'm going for a straight soft coral tank with little fish at all other than clean up crew. Can I get away with a simple marineland light and no sum or protein skimmer for a few months?

I would think so I have a 10 gallon and get buy with just a filter and water changes. Just do large frequent water changes.
