ok these damn yellow paly's that I once thought were cool so long ago now are bordering on plague proportions they are all interspersed through my zoanthid colonies. what'do?!?!

Inject 'em with kalk a few at a time to prevent massive die-off from polluting the water. Or pull out the zoa rocks and treat them outside of the main tank.

If the zoanthids were there first, you can probably gently pull on the mat of the yellow polyps with tweezers and pull them off. If not, a combo of a pick and and the tweezers would do it.

Just spend lots of money on them by buying a bunch of equipment you don't need. The TLC should have them dead in no time.

Too funny, Kafudafish! I took the easy route and just yanked mine out with hemostats. Was this a bad thing to do? I didn't notice any harmful effects. Pulled out about 15-20.

the problem with pulling them out is that it doesn't seem like they are forming a "mat" and that it seems like the more I physically screw with them the more they proliferate! I will try the kalk.. I am about ready to pull out the rock and hit it with the damn propane torch!

If you can, scrape underneath them removing a thin layer of rock. Then you can glue them on a new rock. The new yellow polyp rock could be traded to a LFS for store credit. They are fast growers, but IMO manageable. I have done the above. I have also done kalk paste and have covered them with super glue gel. I try to always save them when possible. It takes a little work, but I can usually find a home for almost all my unwanted frags and even make a few $ sometimes.

Yeah i reccomend gently removing the offending polyps by tweezers/scissors/razor blade and glueing them to a new rock together, in no time you have a piece to trade or sell for more corals.... dont just zap them with joe's juice.

LOL too funny. All i wanted to do was keep my yellow polyps alive. Finally i figured out what was killing them. My Camel Back shrimp was feasting on them. Needless to say he got harpooned. Now they live on!

can't do the scrape thing as they are interspersed with my fire and ice zoa's and I'll be damned if i'll mess with them for the 5 $ credit on yellow polyps... got to a lot of them with tweezers.
