I was wondering if any of you could help my plumb my 180 AGA overflow into my basement? What I need help with is the proper piping to use coming off the overflow and then the return. What size do I use? Should I use flexible tubing? Should I use PVC? I don't know how it would fit over the bulkhead. Sorry everyone. I looked this up and it seems a lot of people have problems doing this, so I wanted to ask here. Thank you.

What do I do with this? HELP!

The bulkhead you have listed is for vinyl tubing not PVC, you can still use it but will need a BARB to M/F PVC adapter for the run to the basement. Where is the basement in relation to the tank, right under or will you have a long run with some elbows. I’d say 1 1/2 to the basement on the drains and 1” back up to the tank will work fine for a sump right under the tank but 2” if you’re adding a few turns to the drain, 1” return will still be fine but also dependent on the pump you use. My preference is to use flex PVC for short runs off the bulkheads and solid everything else, you can use flex for the entire run but will cost more than it needs to.

I prefer to use solid PVC because it is going to be a small fortune with the spa flex. The sump is sitting almost right under the tank. Not directly under, so there will be a few elbows. Do you have a picture by chance?

I decided against it, sump room is on the other side of the house 40+ feet away and didn't want the sound of running water in the ceiling to over take the basement. Check out JB NY old 180 setup as it's very close to what you're thinking; picks of the sump room are in the equipment section http://cnidarianreef.com/G180/
