I dont want to tear down the rocks and all i just got a true perc today and he is going no where near any of the rock work due to the little one ich yellowtail damsel...and the clown is about 1.5'' and i saw him chace away him and the red scooter blenny i got today....

So i was thinking of using a pop bottle and taping some krill and pellet food to the bottom and cutting a hole near the top about a inch to the left of the cap and putting a piece of string an the bottom of the bottle, so when the fish goes in i pull the string up and cover the hole in the sand...i will however add weight to the tip of the bottle so it holds...but i was wondering if anyone knows any ways home made traps wise to get him out...

Try two pound test fishing line and the smallest hook you can get at a place with fishing gear with a tiny piece of krill as bait. If you want you can file the barb off the hook first.

Make a fish trap out of a plastic soda bottle. Cut the top off and invertit back inside the other half. Should look like the end you drink out of is inside the other half. Insert some brine shrimp and tie to some fishing line and wait. Works everytime. Might have to cut a larger opening on the screw cap end if hes too big.

wouldnt he swim out of it, if what biggie says right the damsel is small...i can try though...
Thats why you stand by with the fishing line so when he swims in you pull him out. Ive used this several times in the past. Even caught a Blue Lobster with it. Pesky bugger too!

If you've got soem patience just put some krill in your net and rest it just below the water surface, he'll come to investigate, let him get to the food and a quick jerk up should take care of it.

Had to do that months back when he was bound to be a fiest for my mantis shrimp.

Ed, if you do this, would you do us all a huge favor and videotape it? Perhaps we can do a screening at the next CMAS meeting. Now, that's a meeting I'd come to for sure! With popcorn!

Just use a net, with food and patience:) I just caught a sally lightfoot crab out of my 24 gallon a week ago without taking anyting/water out at all! It can be done, just have patience. BTW..took me over a week!
