I found the Bali tricolor acro near bullet proof when I first started. 2 weeks into reef keeping with a 3G tank picked up 4 frags, an orange/red acan, 2 zoas and what I think was the Bali tricolor. It made it two years and 2 upgrades before my system crashed and it didn't make it and it grew fast. Note it's different from the gar bonsi and another tricolor, all three have similar color of tan with purple tips and green polyps. The Bali is more of a bicolor and is usually almost all purple with green polyps in pictures, also very upright grower like a cactus or tree where the bonsi likes to grow more like a table. The Bali was easier for me to grow than the others and wasn't to pricey, around $20-40. As stated above cheap frags of anything, especially monti, is a good start and some will make it some may not. Your take looks clean so as long as you don't up the fish and feeding you should be ok. I advise staying away from coral food additives for a while too, they can create nutient issues and negate the food benefits.
