problem:

the other week, i noticed a polyp of my armageddons was starting to look funny. kind of like half open, half closed. a day later it still hadn't opened up fully, so i decided to just remove it from the rock instead of risk spreading whatever disease it had. i tore the polyp off with a pair tweezers and it ripped apart. actually more like fell apart. i noticed that there were a few worms inside the polyp, so i iodine dipped it, hopefully killing off any other parasites.

i don't know if those worms had anything to do with the declining, but the problem has spread and infected another polyp. you can see it in the picture in the middle, the polyp looks a little lumpy and doesn't open all the way. i don't want to risk ripping up another polyp... armageddons are expensive. has anybody seen this before? there's a thread on RC about using furazone, would this be effective?

just for back up.. I would frag two separate frags of alteast 1-2 healthy polyps... always have back ups of your favorite zoas.. :)

or share them with friends that will give you some back when you lose yours..

I just had the exact problem with my lunar eclipse. first 3 polyps half open, then fully closed, then died after 4 days. in the mean time the 4 polys surrounding the 3 dead one start to half open, so I fraged out the healthy ones. now that 4 polyps died, and the ones that I fraged out start to half open, should be dead also in the next couple days...

I tried everything in my best to save them, all kinds of dip, check for worms, bugs, whatever. it's one of my favourites, but now the whole colony died. oh well, let just hope whatever it is won't spread to my other colonies...

good luck to you.
