Help! Montipora Bleaching!

Awesome.
Should I leave it where it is (at the top of the tank) or move it lower? This is my first SPS that's why it's not doing so well. I'm guessing I should not have direct flow on it (even though the flow coming out of that powerhead is very weak)?
Also should I do a small kalkwasser drip?
I did a small water change today, I only had a little bit of saltwater.
Any more information and thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a lot for helping me!

Before you buy or use anything you need a better test for alk, calc, mag, ect.

"It is not at 1.7!! It is between that and 2.8." Is not a good answer/test. I agree with everyone that it sounds like a alk swing or low alk, but unless you know what it really is there is no way to tell what you need to add. And I dont use dkh, or reef builder or anything else. you can use baking soda to raise alk.

Last thing but 1.7 would kill most my corals, I keep my alk between 3.4 and 3.6.

You have actually used baking soda to raise your alkalinity?
What about kalkwasser? I would feel safer using kalkwasser if you recommend bringing my alkalinty up a bit.

Kalkwasser it trickey. It also raises calc along with alk. for just raising alk use baking soda or baked baking soda.

Kalk has to be premixed then you siphon off the clear water once its settled out. You then use it for top off or dosing to maintain your parameters. It isnt used for raising stuff, just maintain.

Personally I use baked baking soada but regular baking soda works as well.

She is beginner,so i suggested Reef Builder. Is east to use,& becides IMO it works better.

I agree with buying good test kits FIRST,& testing parameters.BEFORE adding anything to your Reef.
