HELP My 6305 stopped working

Hi

after less than 2 month old, one of my brand new 6305 stopped working

I am really disappointed I cleaned the unit, removed al calcareous sediment, the impeller is completely free.

The power supply is steady red, I even tried with one of the other stream 6305 power units with no success

I live in Venezuela so please I need to make all the possible test before "sending " back the unit, It is going to be very expensive the shipping back to US and back again to Caracas

After investing all this money, is really disappointing to have this situation

Btw I also have to complain about the wiring system, I really do not understand why all connection cannot be centralized in the power unit with a longer cable to the stream, instead of this set up with the smaller connection box in the middle of every thing.

Removing the pump for cleaning in a large tank like mine with all this cabling is really uncomfortable

regards

Claudio

Claudio, I cannot speak on the wiring design, but I did have the same problem the other day with my 6105. It just stopped working and the red power light was on. I cleaned it a couple of times and then finally soaked it in vinegar overnight. It is working fine now. There may be a slight build up of calcium on the inside of the shaft. The pumps are very sensitive to damage (which is a good thing).

Good luck...

Try removing the drive unit, a likely cause, as wwanthony said, is something is stuck between the drive unit and shaft, the pump then shuts down automatically. Remove the drive unit from the shaft and check that it is clean and spins easily on the shaft. If this does not fix it, send me a PM and we will find a better way to solve this problem given the distance and expense. There really isn't a better way for us to do the wiring, it is better to have the power supply seperate so it can be replaced, the only way we could eliminate the controller cable is with wireless but this would be a problem with compatability with older equipment and interference issues.
