Help!!! My Brain's in trouble...

I've got an open brain that has been doing fantastic in my system. A couple of weeks ago my clowns decided they didn't like their silicone anemone anymore and decided my brain would be a good place to start hosting. I thought it odd, but the brain didn't really appear to shrink down any from the attention so I thought I would just keep watching it.

A few days ago I noticed the brain was all shrunk down and appeared really mad. The clowns still tried to host in it as well. I was concerned, but wasn't sure what to do. This evening I noticed one of my Foxfaces was nipping at the brain. It appears some tissue may be gone, but I can't tell for sure.

I drilled some holes in an acrylic box I had from a previous project and placed the brain inside of it. The brain is resting on the bottom of the box and is by itself. I set the box with the brain basically on the sandbed in the corner of my tank.

I'm sure it isn't going to get a lot of flow; more likely it will be low flow.

What do I do? Do I just sit and wait it out? Is there anything I should try to feed it? Any ideas?? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

Flow is going to be very important to that coral, especially if there has been tissue damage. Without it, algae is more likely to attach to the skeleton and slowly take over the colony.
Having some kind of protection from the fish is a good idea for a while, but try a different material. Lighting/Egg Crate could be cut into small sections and zip tied into a box. That wouldnt inhibit much water flow at all, and is still fine enough holes that your fish wont be able to get to it.
