I have had my skunk cleaner shrimp (about an inch big without feelers) for three days and all of the sudden he isn't there anymore he was eating and didn't look at all stressed.
I have a yellow watchman goby is there anyway he could have got him as far as I know I have no bad hitchers all of my snails and hermits and corals and goby are doing well I do have bristlworms. I just don't know I am just a little frustrated i guess. If anyone has an opinion on what could have happened, it would be appreciated
Thanks

Yeah shrimp like to hide, they come out at night when most other fish rest.

Probably hiding somewhere.

Mine will definately hide after molting (I once had one hide for about a week), but I did also once lose one to an agressive intake screen on my closed loop. You may wish to check power heads and intakes to see if you find anything. Depending on your setup you may also want to check overflows/etc. as they can hide in there too.

Good luck!

Hey Jerry,

I'd say the 3 most common things that could have happened would be:

1) Hiding
2) Killed by pump/powerhead/intake and shredded
3) Somehow died and covered up somewhere in the tank or eaten by critters in your tank

The cleaner shrimps I've seen usually don't hide much if at all during the day cycle. Hopefully yours is just hiding.

thanks guys and gals for all of the great input I guess I will just wait it out and see if he comes out of hiding in a week or so i'll let you no as soon as I know anything
Thanks again

use a flashlight at night. i have 2, and have never seen them during the day, but at night, they are always out in the open.
