Hey all.

Pretty new tank here is the thread if your interested.

I have some Birdsnest and a Monti that are not looking too hot.

Birdsnest is really in bad shape. Frogspawn is a lot smaller then normal.

Tank Parameters:
Calcium ~600 I know this is too high, its always been this high and my corals were fine for a few weeks. I thought the levels would come down but its stays at around 600.

Alk: Just tested it at .6 on the salifert which is about 6.1 DKH

Nitrates : ~5ish almost completely yellow so maybe none but not a lot.

Ammonia/Nitrite: 0

PH: 8.1

My light was undimmed for a few days so I dimmed it way down to not burn the corals. It has been like that for about 4 days now. I am unsure if this started the problem but it has gotten worse since I dimmed it down.

My water evaporated out of the back part of the Nuvo 16G. It was spitting bubbles for a few hours 2 days ago. I filled it up immediately once I got home from work and fixed my ATO so that it wont happen again.

1. Figure out what made your calcium so high

2. Water changes to deplete the calcium and raise the dKH. And get those nitrates down too. Assuming source of your issue isn't your salt.

3. Your birds best is probably a goner.

4. It also sounds like you could have had a salinity swing. Any parameters on that?

The birds nest looks like it's on its last leg. Normally when I get stn/rtn in random spots like this the coral rarely recovers.

The frog spawn just looks unhappy. Give your tank a few days to stabilize after the top off misshap. If he doesn't look better after a few week try moving him.

I bet you had some kind of swing. Ph, salinity, and Alk come to mind. Have you been monitoring those values everyday?
