HELP! My coral's dying and I don't know why!

I put this kenya tree coral into my tank about 2 weeks ago. It was doing fine! It just had a little bit of white on its tips. I have my lights on self-timer for 12 hours a day and I left the house in the morning and when I came home the entire coral was shriveled up. It looks dead. It's been like this for 3 days now and just keeps getting worse! I've put in all of the coral supplements I can find and I've tried changing the placement of the coral but nothings working.

HELP!!

Nitrates & nitrites- 0
ammonia- 0
pH- slightly high (8.3)
temperature- 76 degrees

soft corals like Kenya trees need a good source of Iodine in order to thrive in the tank. 12 hours of light is good for corals, but you might start having problems with algae in the future. Ken has a good supplement called Essential Elements, it's great for corals like that. I would just be careful with those Kenya trees... once they like your tank they will start reproducing like crazy and before you know it, it will take over your tank.

Sometimes soft corals take along time to accimate to new conditions but this one does not look like its going to make it. What type of lights are you running ? Maybe it got burned from too much or too strong of a light .Do you add an Iodine Supplement? If it keeps melting away trash it, so it doesn't degrade the water.

I'm running a t-5 lighting. I've decided to only turn on one blue and one white light because when I ran them both my corals would hide. I'm adding Reef Plus (which has Iodine in it) but nothing seems to be helping. It came back for a few hours (which I thought was pretty strange) and then started looking terrible again. Thanks for the feedback! Looks like I'm going to have to trash it

Try not to move it too much, give it time.

Unless it starts to melt down like an ice-cream cone in the Sahara leave it be.
