Update. I had some Spectrogram laying around. It was expired but I figured it was worth a try since I didn't have any other anti-biotic laying around. Spectrogram is supposed to treat both Gram + and Gram - Bacteria.
Anway, just dosed the last treatment today. Had some slime algae growing in the tank that is almost completely gone now so the Spectrogram did something. I guess I have to wait to see if the fish get better.
Drs Foster and Smith carry Triple Sulfa from API. 10pack which treats 100gal (my tank is 92) is 8.79. I'm not sure whether one dose is required or multiple doses though? Then next size is an 850 gram jar for 94.99! That's pricey!
This is what I feed my tangs. I followed lees post on nutrition.
Green, red and brown algae available all the time throughout the day.(mostly green).
7 feedings of frozen herbivore food out of 21. Ex formula 2 soaked in vitachem or selcon
7 of the following feedings soaked selcon or vitachem out of 21:
Vitamin enriched mysis shrimp - frozen
Vitamin enriched brine srimp - frozen
Vitamin enriched krill - frozen
Freeze dried plankton
Spirulina flakes

I can say that whatever is in the tank or is affecting the fish is definitely not 100% related to nutrition. I've keft Tangs for years and fed mostly the same diet and I've never seen the fish this bad. It's aggressively attacking the flesh and fins.
The spectrogram seemed to help the tank because I had patches of algae, possibly carpet algae or slime algae disappear after treatment. Bad news is the tangs fins continue to erode. His pectoral fins are so short now he can barely keep himself afloat.
I think I'm going to order the Triple Sulfa from Dr Foster unless someone else has a better idea?
Does anyone have any advice as to which medication to try next and which one is the most cost effective? I have about 95 gallons in the tank to medicate and it seems most of the medications require repetitive doses which gets costly!
Thanks for all the help so far guys! Well I've given up on the Melafix and Pimafix. It seemed to be working because the Yellow Tangs fins actually started growing back. But alas after 2 treatments of both and 4 bottles they are completed eroded again.
It's possible the Mela and Pima just aren't strong enough and the bacterial infections is resistant to those 2 meds. So I think I'm going to try and locate the API Triple Sulfa or Furan-2 unless someone has a better recommendation for me?
