Hi guys, i have a one year old 33 gal reef, with some live rock, a few small corals, two fish and a number of snails, crabs, starfish & urchin. My light is an LED, with a "Marine Land" hang on the back filter and a little "Fluval cp2" rated for 25 gallons.
I had a "Marine Land mj600" powerhead in there until last week when it finally died on me. So i have purchased this "Fluvial cp2" which ended up being substantially weaker (yet much more expensive :hammer
In the last month my tank has gone from beautiful white sand, with hardly any visible algae, to what you see in these photos. I can clean the front glass daily and there will be a film on it when i get home in the evening. My fish have seemed to decline in health aswell. I am feeling a blend of mysis and brine shrimp.
I know i need to do a bit of a tank overhaul here, i love this tank and want it to thrive and be beautiful again. I was wondering if you guys could help me out with a tank diagnosis and what needs to be done to turn this around? Do i need better filtration? more or less light? stronger powerhead? chemicals or water treatment of some kind? Any advice is much appreciated,
cheers
