Help Needed - Fish Blindness!

Hi all, I'm in need of some of your expert opinions on this!

I have a foxface, who I noticed seemed to be losing his eyesight after a recent 3 hour power outage. That was a few weeks ago, now I think he's almost completely blind. He is bumping into a lot of things and freaks out multiple times per day. He used to have amazing eyesight, hunting down small pellets across the tank with laser accuracy. Now he seems hungry, but can't see the food, even if it's right in front of his face. There are no physical signs (damage to eye, cloudiness, etc).

The thing that concerns me is that one of my two young porcupine puffers went blind about 6 months ago (once again no physical signs), and that seemed to be around the same time I upgraded to LED lighting. I eventually had to put him down as he wasn't eating at all and was really scared all the time. The only other new thing I've added in the last year are BIO Pellets to eliminate the Nitrates and Phosphates (which it has).

Any ideas on what the problem could be? I read the following post about LED lights....could this have possibly caused it?

Any other thoughts?

Params
PH: 7.85-7.95
Temp: 80
Nitrates: 0-5 (on a bad day)
Phosphates: 0
Nitrites: 0
Ammonia: 0
Cal: 420ppm
KH: 11

Thanks in advance for any help!

anyone have any thoughts on this? I've search many boards, and can't seem to come up with anything common. I feed the foxface mainly community sinking pellets that are a blend of algea and krill. He also cleans up after the puffer a bit with his meaty diet.

There was a (somewhat) related thread recently. You can check it out here:

I've never heard anything about BIO Pellets or LED lights causing blindness. That's not to say it's not possible. I have read about "dust" from PhosGuard cutting soft corals and fish gills, and more recently "dust" from activated carbon causing HLLE.

Thanks, I read that thread, but it really doesn't give me any leads. I searched back a few years on multiple message boards and couldn't find much other than the information on blue LEDs potentially causing irreversible damage. I guess this could be the start of a new discovery.....or something else I'm not thinking of. Hopefully some other members will see this post and possibly connect two and two together.

Still no idea of what happened. Does anyone know of a service that tests water samples for everything under the sun? Metals, Chemicals, etc?
