Help needed moving tank

Hey all,

looks like I will be getting colleen's 200 gal oceanic and stand.

was wondering if anyone would be willing to help move it from colleens to my place. Eric has allready tentatively volunteered, but I could probably use some more muscle.

I would like to do the pickup a week from sat 11/3 and should be able to line up a truck and trailer (I hope), and leave from my house around 10:00 am.

If anyone is available and willing to help let me know so I can make the plans.

I am looking forward to seeing Colleens tanks as well since I didnt make her meet. And this will give me a Kick in the butt to start working on a larger system in the basement.

Jorge .... I offered my services, and you need"MORE" muscle?!?!? lol ... Just kiddin' ..... Anyhow You have my services tentatively , allthough depending on how the RedSox are doing at that point I may be heading to Boston for the weekend ... I will keep you posted...

I've helped someone move a 125 gallon tank before. Thats pushing it for what two people can safely move. Use a dolly if you have 'em around.

thanks eric,

I forecast the Redsox in 5, but just let me know if you can make it later next week. And yes I think 4 would be safer than 2 for this tank especially with me being a senior and all.

thanks for the offer Eric but I know it wont do much good at my place and probably not at colleens either. I think if we gat one more set of hands we can man handle it with including my friend from work who will be supplying the truck and trailer.

Jorge, have you seen the tank yet? I hope that you can get to your basement without going down stairs. I am renting my back out to my brother-in-law that w/end who has just sold his house. If that falls through I will call you and give you guy's a hand. You are going to need it. That tank has to be in the 400-500 lbs mark maybe more. I hope that a few more guy's come htought to give you a hand. After all that is what the club is all about. Helping out others.
Be safe.

Jorge ... I will not be around on Sat. ...Sorry ... If the day changes let me know... I appologize , I was looking forward to helping out and seeing Colleens tanks ...

Jorge,

I'm not available this Saturday but I'll be glad to help out if needed with some other things as you work on the "BASEMENT" project. I'm pretty well tied up on Saturdays with VT football and deer hunting.

Since I'm fairly close to you, let me know if you need something other than the tank move.

Paul

thanks Paul I will keep it in mind, I am calling off the move Saturday and need to contact colleen about doing it another time as my truck and trailer provider requested another time.

the tank move has been changed to Tuesday night 11/6, and I have 2 guys from work going to pick it up with me. With Colleens husband the four of us should have no problem getting it loaded up.

Could still use one more person to get it off the truck and into my house if anyone can make it. Probably wont be getting back to my house with the tank till about 9:00 PM will offer a beer and frags for help.

thanks to all who offered to help,

Just talked to Paul who is probably the closest and said he could make it, so that is all I should need to get the monster into my basement, again thanks it seems there are more than enough people willing to help out when you ask.

As far as people wanting frags/corals I am taking a load to Colleen for the tank and will see what I need to thin out when I get done with the move.

the tank is in the basement and all went well. A bit of a road trip and a late night but well worth it. Thanks again to all who offered help.
Now a lot of work ahead of me to get it in the wall and unfortunately I have a couple of other projects that are taking priority.
