I am a little new to clams Just got my crocea about a month ago. the other day I noticed what looked like a slug with feathers all over it. I couldnt ID it so I tossed it. since then I noticed my crocea isnt opening up as much and there is a hole in the bottom is it possible that what I saw knocking over my corals was the clams foot? if so what should I go to help the clam out?

from the description it sounds like the foot with some byssal thread. the question is how did he lose his foot? did he drop it or did you try to move him with his foot attached?

once he has dropped his foot it shouldn't be able to knock anything over. it should just sit there on the bottom not moving, unless by current.

can you post a picture of your clam?

I am assuming the foot can move on its own after it drops? I found it about a foot away from the clam. the clam itself never moved. its really not looking well right now I have a pic in my gallers I havent figured out how to post on here yet
