HELP! nem being eaten

I bought a yellow carpet nem for my pair of maroon gold clowns, and they are going crazy. The male is trying to host it, but the nem hasn't rooted yet. and every now and then they are ripping off mouthfuls of tentacles!!!

I was worried abut fish getting eaten, not the other way around!

HELP!

maroons are notoriusly rough on anemones... I would seperate it, you can just put something like a pasta strainer on top of it, let it acclimate, get healthy and then re-introduce the clowns. It is a situation that will require lots of monitoring.

Thanks. Did the pasta strainer thing, we'll see how that works out. Will the nem anchor once it acclimates, or will it start moving around once I pull off the strainer?

Shouldn't put a metal strainer in saltwater -- plastic would be better. However, the best route would be to remove the clowns until the anemone settles in.

Any chance of a pic? Never have seen a healthy yellow "carpet".

What size tank?
What lights?
How long has it been set up?
What are your water parameters? -- with numbers.

Have you seen this pic?

To me and my eyes.. this anemone appears yellow..

IMO, the first picture the anemone is green, not yellow.

That second picture, an over-saturated close up.

I posted the same time as "ryanrid" -- IMO, that isn't yellow. When I think of yellow, I think of either a banana or a lemon.

Well, fair enough then.. I don't see much green in the first pic and so I will call it yellow, you can call it green..

:)

I actually agree with that 100% but people seem to refer to these kind of colours as yellow as with SPS etc. IMO there is no true yellow coral just fish like yellow tangs etc.

edit actually there are yellow tubinara and some leather
