I currently have a 29 gallon set up. And I am planning to expand to a 36 gallon as soon as I can, I have the 36 tank, the stand, and the sump. But I am still very new to all this. And I was just wondering if anyone could give me tips or could tell me the things I will need to get the sump going, and the tank running:)

Sump is tricky if you what a good one cost money but worth it if basic set up you can just use a petco tank. Read a few build threads and make use of everyone's ideas.

Thanks guys. I'll definitely look into the videos or see if petco has anything I could use. Again any and all help me appreciated, keep it coming!:D

Nothing wrong with a hob overflow as long as it's a u-tube style. Not the prettiest but works, and your won't have to drill.

I would say join M.A.R.S. and go to their meetings. There's always a lot of experienced and very nice people willing to help others. I haven't been to a meeting in a while but before they would always start the meetings off with introductions of new attendees then ask if anyone had a new setups and would discuss ideas or problems anyone was having.

+1 on this idea as well. You can always look at Aquarium Depot. The have some nice premade sumps that would be prefect. I would also look into a kit from Glass-Holes overflow. I have one on my nano and it's perfect.

I also recommend using reefcentral as a advice hub. You should start a build thread or use this as a build thread so you can get advice every step of the way.

I have a few 10 gallon tanks. You could have one for free. Pick up in Esparto. 30 minutes from a Sac.

If it isn't reef ready with an overflow built in make sure that it isn't tempered glass before you drill!
