Help new tank leak

I got a deep blue 80g rimless and discovered it was slowly leaking from the bottom. I ordered from fishtanksdirect.com and they said to silicone over the seams which I did. In your opinion is it safe to still use this tank? Either way I will be requesting a new tank because I paid $600 for a fully functional tank and I shouldn't have had to re-apply silicone. But if I can still use it I will.

A leak indicates that the structural seam has failed. A patch job isn't going to fix that. Replacement is your best option as the alternative is the total dis-assembly of the tank, cleaning all the glass back to a shine, and reassembly. Get them to replace it as soon as possible.

I agree with RocketEngineer. The structural integrity is not safe if you have a leak. They need to replace. A patch will stop the leak short term but I wouldnt take any risks. Even with a patch you will have to drain it right down and the silicon wont set if there is water present
