help on lighting.

I have had great luck with the coralife fixtures. never had a problem ever. The current looks to be cheaper and a bit more wattage though. If your tank is 18 deep either one would most likely be fine. If its 24 deep Might step up tp 250s

He means 250 watt halids instead of the 150's. The 150's are for tanks up to 20" deep with mixed corals like SPS and clams that are high in the tank.

250's are for tanks up to 30" deep with Mixed corals like SPS,and clams.

400's are for tanks up to 48" deep with SPS and clams.

but does 150w work on my 90 gal tank? i can have sps high up in the tank.

so would you get coralife? or outer orbit?

150 W will work, but you will likely need to keep the Acropora, etc, high in the tank, as you suggest.

I wouldn't buy either of those fixtures, since I don't think that they have reasonable reflectors. This site has a lot of articles and data on MH lighting:

I went with a bit of a DIY solution, if you are interested in doing some wiring. ReefOptix pendant with a 15,000 K Iwasaki bulb and an IceCap ballast.
