Some history first...
I purchased a pair of black occys on DFS for my 150. I already had one orange clown from the tank change, it's my first fish and I thought 150 was enough room for 3. I thought horribly wrong. They seemed OK first, and paired with my RBTA fast. Within a week, the orange (very large at ~3") killed the female and bullied the male behind the liverock. I couldn't get him out for months. Eventually he was so beat up, I got him out without a fight. I put him in my 29g and he quickly paired with my torch. It stung him to the point that he lost most of his left fin and his eye. Eventually it healed pretty well and I got him a suitable sebae, he hosted in that pretty quickly.
I recently bought a small >1" black clown on a petco sale for $25. So far they seem to be getting along and I see them swim around together. However, at night the clown tends to shoo him away from the anemone that he sleeps in. Its been about 5 days, do you think they'll pair? Is there anything I can do to help?
TL;DR: Beat up Black Occy, rescued him. How to I get him to pair up with another clown?
P.S.: Another question while i'm in the forum.... Do RBTA's have a really hefty bioload? Mines about the size of a basketball and I feed it silversides daily and I can't find another reason why my nitrates are so dang high.
