what is going on there is orangey brown spots on my sand what are they?????????

Looks like algae maybe. Try using a siphon to clean the sand. You know one of those things that vacuum the sand.

Looks like Brown Diatoms! You wanna give us a little info about your system? Size, parameters, filtration, How often do you water change? Do you use RODI? Whats your feeding habits? How new the tank?

yes diatoms, perhaps from excess silicate in your water

i use RO/DI water for it i dont feed cus there is no fish yet and the tank is new prolly about a month old maby less

calm down, it is all natural, and will go away in a week or two, so nothing to worry about

It's just a sign of a young tank, it will go away as said above.

ok thank you very much i was starting to panic because there is a live plate coral in there. he will be fine wont he? you can see him in the bottom right of one of the pics

it should be fine, just make sure it doesn't cover it but it shouldn't

Well if the tank is only 2months old i would say dont put nuthin else in there!! You have a clean up crew yet? Now would be a good time to start looking into that. When you do a water change make shure to use high quality RODI, and syphen the Diatoms off the sand. What kind of salt you useing?

Well i know people that have bought a clean up crew from GARF and they where pritty happy with them. Other then that i would say ummmm im not shure i just got mine from a huge LFS locally.
