Ok, so I just transferred my 68 with a 20 gallon sump to a 90 with 30 gallon sump yesterday. Everything was going great and the water was clearing up finally this morning when all of a sudden it started getting really cloudy. None of the sand was being disturbed so I checked the sump. come to find out the 2 baffles I had installed were not put in correctly. The person who built it used acrylic latex caulk instead of silicone and it has completely dissolved and turned my water to milk color. I have managed to wedge my baffles in to keep the fuge separated, and still running skimmer to try and clear the water. My big question is will my fish and corals survive this? I have a small 3" naso tang, a pair of true percs, and 2 orange lyretail anthias in the tank now. Unfortunately I cannot see them to even try to get them out. Anyone with any advice or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would start mixing new saltwater and just start draining the DT. Maybe you can get some mixed from the LFS and get the fish intothe 68 gal or something. It may not be that bad, but I would get all the water out and refill, then run carbon for a few days before putting stuff back. That will give you time to put the baffles in right. Bummer.

Gee, that just stinks! I feel for you. I would try to immediately buy a Poly Filter pad and put it in the drip tray (if applicable) and turn up the skimmer for a more wet skim. If you can find out if that caulk is toxic that would help to determine if you have a real emergency on your hands and weather or not massive water changes are even in order.
