so i just finished filling my 225 and 100gal sump w/RO/DI water to check the plumbing. No more leaks but there are some pipe shavings and other debris floating around. the water also seems a little murky(no lights on the tank yet)
Can i just net out the stuff and add salt or does the pvc glue or silicone add anything bad to the water?
should i run carbon? i could drain and refill but it'll take about 4 days and seems like an awful waste of ro/di water.
help please

Yes run carbon!

Net out the big stuff before it clogs something!

The murkyness could easily be from the sand and or rocks

Throw a filter sock in your outpu if at all possible for like 24 hours and it should all be good

Dont add salt yet because if you do have to empty u will just waste ur salt and RO water there.

Good Luck

If it's just PVC shavings, removing them will be fine.

The PVC glue and silicone should've been fully cured or dry before adding water to your system, if you didn't do that...I'd refill the tank to prevent any possible contaminants. Carbon will help I'm sure, but to what degree...I have no idea.

you will be fine the nice thing about pvc and silicone is that they dont break down and pollute the water, that why we use them for so many things. just net out what you can the pvc should all float and the i would have no worries about the silicone

Show us pics of that monstrous tank!
