I might have touched a zooanthid on a rock I got today will this hurt me?
help please

You're fine. As long as you didn't eat a couple handfuls you should be ok. Just wash your hands and you'll be alright. Don't go picking your nose or rubbing your eyes...although that still wouldn't hurt you much with a bunch of zoa slime.

sorry went on a web site that said they excreted a toxic poision and if u have a cut it will go through your blood stream and u could die, Freaked me out! The guy I bought them from didn't tell me that they were poisionous. Thanks for your help all good to know u are here!

From what i've read only one species contains the deadly toxin. Although all have a toxin in them. As long as you don't have any open cuts exposed to the zoo's or ingest the zoo's you wont have any problems. One time i had a cut on my hand, rearranged things including my zoo's and afterwards for the rest of the night i had a funny metallic taste in my mouth. Needless to say i no longer put my hand in my tank if i have any cuts.

yeah I do have a small cut on my index finger, thats why I got freaked out
