i have a pulsating xiena and it dont pulsate since ive brung it home. so how do i get it to pulsate ? my PH is 8.4 (did test tonight it was low) and what about the flow of the water? and and where should it be placed in the tank near the flow or good lighting or little lighting?

IME, lower lighting and flow get better pulse action. 8.4 is edging up to the high end. I think I've heard that pH and temp can affect the pulse (as well as a million other things). If I'm not mistaken, higher temps get a little more pulse, but not positive on that. If your water quality is all good, it should be fine. I'd start with it low and in low flow to see if it pulses for you.

If you JUST brought it home it may need time to acclimate to the tank and start pulsing again. Mine took about a week to fully open up and start pulsing once acclimated. They can be finicky little buggers. But, when they get going watch out. :)
