Help problem with Naso

My naso has developed what looks like he has bubbles in his belly or cottage cheese. I have never had a fish with Air problems and I am wondering if this is what it is, since I was pumping air in the tank during the power outage. Also, he is eating just no as heartily as he was. Please Identify and inform of possible remedies.

Thanks in advance.

Could be internal parasites. There are medicines that are easy to use that can treat it if it is parasites. I know Metronidazole is available at Tropical World and Marine Solutions. Probably other places too. I tried it for ich per label directions and it did not work. But then it is for internal parasites.

Either way, it would not hurt to soak the food in Vita-Chem before you feed. It will make the medicine taste better if you try that and it will help provide additional nutrition. I know Gateway Aquatics carries it although I purchased the last bottle they had two weeks ago. You can call and see if they have more in.

I will try the Met, I keep some around. The only way I would say starving is if the events of last week stressed him to where he has not eating as he use to. Also, I have had a couple of fish that would not eat and they did not look like that, the pictures aren't the best but it looks more like rocks in his stomach. Up until the power outage he was one of my best eaters, he ate spectrum pellets, macro-alage, sheet alage, and mysis. I dose with vitamines two feedings a week. The way his stomach looks developed over a two day period, and he was still eating up till then.

I will try the met today and see if that helps. I hope so, I have had bad luck with naso's, he has been in the tank for about two months now and has been doing great. Heres keeping my fingers crossed.

Well I don't know what to think. I don't believe it was parasites, or he would most likely be gone by now. After the power outage he was just not eating well. So either he was starving from not eating almost a week (even though i was feeding) or he had air in his gut. His body is looking normal again, and not only is he eating, he will now take food from my hand, which he did not do before. Primarily he is eating the seaweed, once I see him eating mysisd and pellets again, I will do a five day treatment with Metronidozole, just in case he has parasites and is just keeping up with them now.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.

If you are still looking for the vita-chem, I was just at Marine Solutions and they had at least two small bottles of it. I think it runs around $12-13. Good luck.

Feed him some small krill as soon as you can . Like gary said on your other post .

Krill is not something that he eats, he looks at it as he swims by. I have the bigger Mysid Shrimp from MS. He does good with that. I also Garlic and vitamin his food. But, he is still being picky about anything other than Algae right now. I finally saw him eat some spectrum pellets after about a two week hiatus from them. I also pull out the bubble macro out of my sump and he eats those.

I will keep at it, I guess the power outage and no lights for 5 days stressed him out. It has been like aclimating him all over again.
