Help programming a mp10wqd

Hello, I just purchased a mp10wqd. Never owned one before.

Ive been going over the manual, watched a few videos, and got the full manual off ecotech's website.

however still confused about a couple things.

1. So on page 7 of the full manual is mode configuration.

it says hold all 3 buttons to get into config mode>mode button to cycle>set button to access mode values....ok...then what??

it doesn't say how to program it in or how to advance to the next value.

for example. I get to night mode, dial is blinking green and orange I hit set and cycle to my desired time...what do I do next to save it in? in other words, to stop the dial from blinking orange/green and go to the next setting or go back to normal operation?

because if I hit the power button, then go back, the setting isn't saved in

2. my other question is...Why is it that my desired speed setting on tidal swell isn't the same as constant mode?

If I turn the dial all the way up on constant mode, it is significantly higher than it is if I were to turn it all the way up on tidal swell mode. Is that normal?

hahahaha....I bought one MP40 ES but didn't use it yet because I had used RW or PP Jebao pumps at this time. I read your questions, I think I start to sell my MP40...hahahaha...too confuse for me too.

When you setup your Mp10's in a mode and set the dial, that is the maximum speed at which it can operate. Each mode will ramp up and down(in this case tidal swell). If you look at the modes in the manual you will see how they start off slow, ramp up to your max setting, then ramp down(like a wave).

Constant mode is just that, constant. And will stay on the desired setting.

As far as your other questions, I honestly have no idea as I never used the controllers. I have always since setting them up had my apex control them.

Just read the quick start manual....

For say Random /reefcrest mode, you would press the mode button until the dial is yellow, and the first 2 lights are blue. Then let it do it's thing. If you wanted to do Random lagoon mode you would press the mode button until the dial is yellow, then press the set button which will turn the third and fourth LED's on. In either mode once the dial is yellow, you will turn the dial to set the intensity.

After the mode is set, you just let the dial timeout to set the mode.

Night mode from the manual is setup the same way, but to activate it you press and hold the set and mode buttons for a second, then release and reprsee same 2 buttons. The dial should "breathe" white and will continue in this mode for 10 hours before returning to normal operation.

Unfortunately there is no way to automatically change modes, you have to do them manually via the controller. Only way to automatically change modes is using a controller.

Ahh I see now, Just read the Quiet drive full manual.

I'm going to assume it's like any other mode, once set, you let the unit timeout to set the mode.

But like I said, I'm just guessing as I have always used my apex for setup.

I do have an apex but not the extra part you need for it.
